School-wide Literacy Plan |
|
The written word is the
most powerful tool with which we can equip our
students. Warren Easton's English Department strives to
achieve this by encouraging the development
of vocabulary, grammar and critical reading
skills. Tightly woven into the curriculum are
assignments stressing creative writing (short
stories and poetry), essay writing, speeches,
dramatic readings, reading of all genres of
literature, analysis (of character, setting,
plot, meaning, etc.), and grammar.
